Young coloratura soprano Lisa Mostin is one of Belgium’s rising talents, has been invited by world class opera houses in some of the most demanding coloratura roles of the opera repertoire.
She appeared as the Queen of the Night at the DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN and the DUTCH NATIONAL OPERA and has been invited again at the Deutsche Oper Berlin to cover the role of Valentine in Les Huguenots with Juan Diego Florez, Patrizia Ciofi, David Alden and Michele Mariotti, sang as Yvette in La Rondine in the direction of Rolando Villazon, conducted by Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, and in the new production of Death in Venice by Graham Vick and Donald Runnicles.
This season she made her role and house debut at the STAATSOPER STUTTGART as Olympia in a regie of Christophe Marthaler conducted by Marc Piollet with colleagues Atalla Ayan, Angela Brower, Adam Palka and Olga Busuioc.
She was invited by the Oscar winning actress Vanessa Redgrave to sing at her evening Vanessa Redgrave and Friends, “Parlami d’amore” at the Ulysses Theater Festival in Croatia.
She made a lasting impression in the Leonard Bernstein centennial as Dede in A Quiet Place directed by Orpha Phelan which won Opera Zuid and the whole cast, Best Opera Production of 2018.
As Adele, Lisa got the opportunity to jump in for Danielle de Niese during the rehearsals at La Monnaie Brussels directed by Guy Joosten and conducted by Adam Fischer.
Last season she made her stage debut as Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung as dem Serail in Görlitz and Magdeburg.
At the Opera Houses of Rostock and Görlitz she built up an impressive repertoire like Marie / LA FILLE DU REGIMENT, Königin der Nacht / DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, Susanna / DIE HOCHZEIT DES FIGARO, Musetta / LA BOHEME, Adele / DIE FLEDERMAUS, Oscar / EIN MASKENBALL, Eurydike / ORPHEUS IN DER UNTERWELT as well as the soprano part in CARMINA BURANA and in THE FAIRY QUEEN. She sang during the world premieres the roles of Aristide in Moritz Eggerts Oper LINKERHAND and of Franziska in Georg Kreislers DAS AQUARIUM ODER DIE STIMME DER VERNUNFT. At the Brussels Operetta Society she developed a deep love for the operetta repertoire.
Lisa Mostin studied at the conservatory of Maastricht with Axel Everaert and in Florenz with Margherita Rinaldi. During private lessons and masterclasses she studied with; June Anderson, Barbara Bonney, Ileana Cotrubas, Cecilia Gasdia, Sylvia Geszty, Bonaldo Giaiotti, Sumi Jo, Liene Kinça, Tom Krause and Nelly Miricioiù.
Lisa Mostin is a Finalist of the International Clermont-Ferrand Singing Competition and the Maastricht Rotary Award.
Lisa will make her debut as a movie actress and record the soundtrack for the sequel for the international award winning movie ‘King of the Belgians’ which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The upcoming movie ‘The Barefoot Emperor’, in which she will appear, will include actors Peter van den Begin, Geraldine Chaplin, Udo Kier etc. A movie by Jessica Woodworth and Peter Brosens.
Lisa is also making her first executive producing steps with her first show which will feature the Oscar winning actress Vanessa Redgrave.
